Group Buying just got better for 7,000 NZ businesses

GSB save time save money reduce risk

The Group Buying Power for New Zealand businesses just got better with GSB announcing today that they have just signed up their 7,000th Member.

As New Zealand's leading procurement specialist, GSB's growth means their Member organisations, from both the public and private sectors, can get even better savings with suppliers such as BP, Caltex, Fonterra, PlaceMakers, Powershop and Noel Leeming Group.

According to Peter Royle, CEO of GSB, reaching 7,000 Members will mean GSB can negotiate better deals with their Contracted Suppliers and expand their business offering to include new suppliers and procurement services.

"Collectively, we save our Members $124 million per year and we intend to keep growing to ensure our buying power increases to the benefit of our Members."

"GSB does all the hard work from tendering and negotiating terms, ultimately saving Members time and money allowing them to focus on their core business," says Royle.

"Collectively, we save our Members $124 million per year and we intend to keep growing to ensure our buying power increases to the benefit of our Members."

GSB's recent success has come from associations, many of them trade groups such as Registered Master Builders, Electrical Contractors Association of NZ and the Forestry Industry Contractors Association who use GSB contracts for goods and services such as vehicles, office supplies, health & safety supplies and ICT.

Scott Taylor, owner of Mitchbuild Construction (RMBF), made savings when purchasing for his fleet, "My local dealer quoted me a 12% discount. GSB quoted me 24%. With these figures, it was a simple decision to buy the vehicle outright through GSB."

GSB has over 100 Contracted Suppliers offering savings across 18 different categories such as fuel and fleet services, office consumables, engineering & industrial supplies, electricity, telecommunications and ICT.

A new supplier to GSB, M2 Telecommunications (partner of Black + White) whose core areas are fixed-line voice services, mobile, broadband and data solutions, says being a part of GSB has given them access to a large NZ market.

"It's a win-win scenario because GSB Members get a better deal, while we get new business opportunities. As a challenger brand in the telecommunication market, achieving this level of market penetration with one partner would normally take much longer," says Troy Elliott, M2 Sales Director.

Royle says, "We assist both sides of the supply chain which is quite unique."
